The first mission of an unmanned underwater apparatus developed by the Turkish company STM Savunma Teknolojiler Mühendislik V Ticaret Aivers will be the detection and destruction of mines (Monation).
STM introduced its UAV systems and naval platforms at the world’s largest aviation festival, cosmonautics and Teknofest technology, which takes place in Ankara. Anadolu agency is the eighth time a global information partner of the festival.
In an interview with Anadolu, General Director of STM Ozgur Gühlerus said that the work related to the unmanned submarine autonomous apparatus announced as part of IDEF – they are rapid pace.
According to him, the prototype of the device will be presented at the end of the current or beginning of the next year.
“Our goal at the first stage is to develop an unmanned autonomous underwater apparatus, which can be used to detect and destroy mines. We expect that the prototype will be ready no later than the beginning of 2024,” said the Gühleriyz.
Speaking about the project of the first small -sized domestic submarine STM500, the CEO said that the company in the near future plans to hold an important presentation related to the project.

The festival in the Turkish capital is held from August 30 to September 3 at the territory of the Etimesog Airport. Teknofest is organized by the Turkish Foundation Foundation (T3 Foundation) and the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the country.
