Turkey and Qatar have agreed to strengthen military cooperation

Turkey and Qatar agreed to strengthen military cooperation. Turkey’s Defense Minister Hulusi Akar met in Istanbul with his Qatari Khalid Ben Mohammed Al-Atti to discuss cooperation in the field of defense industry and military training, reports Daily Sabah.

Heads of defense departments also discussed bilateral and regional defense and security.

Turkey and Qatar collaborate on numerous regional issues, including Libyan Crisis and Afghanistan.

Both countries played a decisive role in supporting the legal government of Libya and the protection of Tripoli from the forces of General-Cutchista Haftar Caliphs during a 14-month offensive.

They also collaborated to re-open Kabul Airport after the Taliban took control after the fall of the government and the conclusion of US troops.
