On Wednesday, December 7, between the press secretary of Turkish President Ibrahim Kalyn and the White Security Council, the National Security House Jake Sullivan took place. This was reported by the press service of the administration of the President of Turkey.
According to the report, bilateral political and economic ties, cooperation in the defense industry, the war between Russia and Ukraine, the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean, Syria and Iraq, the process of Sweden and Finland in NATO,
were discussed.
Kalyn noted that Ankara and Washington as NATO allies should focus on strategic and common interests.
The press secretary of the Turkish President also brought to the attention of Sullivan the expectation of Turkey regarding the completion of the process of approval by the US Congress request for the supply and modernization of F-16 fighters for Turkey.
Commenting on the operations of the Turkish Armed Forces in the north of Iraq and Syria, Kalyn emphasized that they are aimed at the PKK/PYD/YPG terrorist organization, which poses a threat to Turkey’s national security. He recalled that Turkey has the right to self -defense in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter.
