Turkey discovered new gas fields in Black Sea

Turkey found new natural gas fields in the Black Sea. Now Ankara is preparing an official statement. This was announced on the eve of Bloomberg with reference to sources.

As the edition notes, the preliminary data has shown that in the new field Amasra-1 there are significant gas reserves. “At the same time, the authorities of the country did not conduct an audit of any of the new open fields in the Black Sea,” Bloomberg writes.

Turkey’s Ministry of Energy did not comment on the discovery. But, as the publication emphasizes, at the beginning of the week the President of the country Recep Tayyip Erdogan promised on Friday to bring “good news” from the Black Sea coast.

In August 2020, Regep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey discovered large gas fields in the Black Sea. Their stocks are estimated at 320 billion cubic meters of gas. According to Western media, such gas volumes will cover the needs of Turkey in a resource for 20 years. The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey stated that gas production could begin in 2023. All are planning to drill 30-40 wells.

Also in 2020, Turkish geo-surveals found 405 billion cubic meters of gas in the well “Tuna-1”. This is the largest field in the Black Sea. Prey can start in 2023.
