Ankara is ready to transit natural gas from Turkmenistan to Europe, writes the newspaper Neutral Turkmenistan based on the results of a visit to Ashgabat of the chairman of the Great National Assembly (Parliament) of Turkey Mustafa Schentop.
The speaker of the Turkish parliament in an interview with the publication noted that there are broad prospects between countries for building contacts in the trade and economic sphere, and said that Turkey is ready to provide Europe with transit supplies of Turkmen natural gas.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan plans to discuss with the leaders of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan Ilham Aliyev and Serdar Berdimuhamedov the issues of creating a gas center
with the leaders of Azerbaijan.
Turkmenistan accounts for 7.2% of world gas reserves, which allows it to occupy 4th place in the world in this indicator, yielding to Russia, Iran and Qatar.
