Turkey: Level Of Employment Is Growing 29 April

The unemployment rate in Turkey in March decreased by 0.3 percentage points compared to the previous month and amounted to 7.9%. Such data on Tuesday, on April 29, is cited by the Institute of Statistics of Turkey (Tüi̇k).

Accordingly, the number of unemployed in Turkey at the age of 15 and older in March decreased by 65 thousand people compared to the previous month and amounted to 2 million 807 thousand people.

Thus, the unemployment rate has fallen to the lowest level from January 2005, when an array of data was recalculated. The unemployment rate for the first time in 20 years dropped below 8%.

The unemployment rate, according to estimates, is 6.5 % among men and 10.6 % among women.

This month, the unemployment rate among youth at the age of 15-24 was 15.1%, which is 0.1 percentage points larger than the previous month. In this age group, the unemployment rate among men was 11%, and among women – 22.6%.
