Upon maintaining the current conditions in the global market, the volumes of export of flour from Turkey will continue to increase this year. This assessment was shared by the head of the Board of the Federation of Flour producers of Turkey (Tusaf) Khaluk Tezhan.
He recalled that the export of Turkish flour today is 3 million tons, which reaches $ 1.5 billion in price equivalent.
According to him, an important component of this process is the preservation of state support for domestic farmers. “I am sure that against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine, the significance of local grain production is better aware of the world,” said the head of Tusaf.
He explained that against the backdrop of bloodshed in Ukraine, the global logistics sector was damaged. “Our country was lucky in the fact that we retained local production. It is also gratifying that the products of our enterprises are perceived as a quality brand,” said Tezhan.
touching export markets, the head of the federation noted that neighboring Iraq is the leader in the import of flour from Turkey. “Today, Iraq authorities are trying to build grain processing enterprises, but they cannot issue products similar to the quality of Turkish,” said the head of the board of Tusaf.
He indicated that the state of logistics routes and the price segment of products meet the interests of Turkish companies.
