Sweden will not be able to join NATO before the settlement of fair fears available to Ankara. Such a condition for joining the North Atlantic Alliance was called by the head of the Directorate for the Relations of the Administration of the President of Turkey Fakhrettin Altun in his note for the Swedish newspaper Expressen.
“countries such as Turkey, which have become the target of terrorism, work hard to eliminate these double standards. Given this story, it would be unacceptable for Turkey to observe how Sweden tries to join NATO without revising its position,” – explained representative of the Turkish leader.
He added that in accordance with the position of Ankara, the struggle with people appearing as petitioners of political asylum for the people of Sweden, contrary to their involvement in crimes against innocent citizens of Turkey – an indispensable condition for the Union. Altun emphasized that the Swedes would share this position, “if the Turkish government hid the terrorist organization responsible for the terrorist attack in the stortorge.”
“Sweden will not be able to join NATO until the fair fears of Turkey are settled. If Sweden expects that the second largest army of NATO will defend it in case of attack, it should accept this fact,” Altun concluded .
