The Turkish Republic is now playing the role of an important energy and food, and now a metallurgical hub for Russia. This is reported by the EURONEWS channel.
This was confirmed by Betin, the head of the Istanbul Association of Exporters of ferrous and non -ferrous metals (IDDMIB – Ed.). He stated that the Turkish industry of ferrous and non-ferrous metals can serve as a trading base and a bridge due to the sanctions imposed on Russia. Already now, the export of metals from Russia to Turkey increased by 33% compared to the same period last year.
According to experts, this will not end with Moscow reconfiguration to Ankara. In the foreground there will be industries with the largest volume of Russian foreign trade operations. This is metallurgy, food and much more.
“The fact that they (Russia – Ed.) cannot buy in Germany, Italy and France, they buy from us. Separately, many companies from the EU plan to sell their products to Russia through Turkey. They want to use Turkey as a bridge and warehouse. We need to evaluate this well. This is a historical opportunity for Turkish industry and exports, ”Betin told Tecelioglu to reporters.
According to the official, Moscow and Ankara will create a secretariat and a special trade department for regulating joint trade.
