Turkey will find an alternative to American F-16 fighters if Washington refuses to sell them Ankara, the Minister of National Defense of Turkey Hulushi Akar.
said in an interview with the Turkish media.
“We also say that the F -16 is not the only option for us,” Akar said, expressing the hope that “common sense will prevail in the USA, and they will decide on the basis of a comprehensive assessment of the problem.”
According to him, members of the Turkish parliament are negotiating with representatives of the US Congress on the purchase of fighters.
Earlier, American senators turned to US President Joe Biden to postpone the sale of Turkey fighters before Ankara approval an application for the entry into NATO Sweden and Finland.
