Turkey will transfer the Bayraktar combat drone to Lithuania to transfer to Ukraine, said journalist and public figure Andryus Tapinas, DELFI reports.
Tapinas television Laisves TV collected donations for this unmanned aerial vehicle.
“Turkey and manufacturer Baykar decided to give Lithuania to Lithuania Bayraktar TB2 the most modern configuration with all optics and with everything necessary,” Tapinas wrote on Facebook.
According to a journalist, donated by people 1.5 million euros will be transferred to the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense – the drone will be completely equipped with weapons for these funds. The remaining amount is 4.4 million euros. At the request of Turkey, she should go to humanitarian, defense, logistics assistance or to help in the restoration of Ukraine, Tapinas said.
