Turkey will invest almost 10 billion dollars investment in the extraction and transportation of natural gas in the Black Sea. This was announced on Thursday Sabah newspaper.
It is expected that, as a result of this investment, Ankara will be able to produce approximately 14 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year from the fields in the province of Zonguldak and from the Sakarya gas field. It will also provide more than 1 thousand jobs.
In August 2020, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that Turkey found large stocks of natural gas in the Black Sea. By 2023, the authorities expect to start his deliveries to the domestic market. In mid-October last year, Erdogan stated that “the volume of proven gas reserves in the section” Danube 1 “deposits” Sakarya “amounted to 405 billion cubic meters.”
