Turkey diversifies the supply of natural gas due to the contract for the purchase of American LNG, writes Bloomberg.
The Turkish state company BOTAS, which is a long-time partner of the Russian Gazprom, completes negotiations with the German Deutsche Bank about the provision of a loan worth $ 1 billion, which will be spent on the purchase of American liquefied natural gas. As reported informed sources, the allocated funds will go to the purchase of LNG both from manufacturers in the USA and traders in Europe.
The transaction marks the first loan of the company to import LNG and opens the way for similar transactions that will allow Botas to diversify the supply in which Russia and Iran are currently dominated. It is noted that the signing of the Agreement is expected over the coming weeks.
