Turkey’s Economy Increased By 2.1% In Third Quarter Of Year

Turkish GDP in the third quarter of this year increased by 2.1% compared to the same period last year in the volume index with a chain binding, the Institute of Statistics of Turkey (Tüi̇k) reports.

According to the production method, GDP at the current prices amounted to 11 trillion 893 billion 252 million lires, which is 53.3% more compared to the third quarter of 2023. In the dollar equivalent of GDP for the third quarter amounted to 357 billion 989 million dollars.

During a detailed analysis of the composition of GDP, the largest growth is observed in the construction industry (9.2%), financial and insurance sectors (6.2%), agriculture (4.6%) and real estate transactions (2.5% ). In addition, taxes on goods were deductible to subsidies (2.3%), information and communication services (2.2%), as well as public administration, education, healthcare and social security (1.9%).

In the meantime, in the data on previous quarters, an indicator of economic growth was revised.

The forecasts of economists who participated in the AA Finans survey suggested that the Turkish economy would grow by 2.64% in the third quarter of 2024.
