Turkey’s economy increased by 5.7% in first quarter

The gross domestic product (GDP) of Turkey increased by 5.7 percent in the first quarter of 2024. This was announced by the Institute of Statistics of Turkey (Tüi̇k).

According to the agency, from January to March of this year, the first GDP rating for the first quarter of 2024 as a chain index of physical volume increased by 5.7 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year.

GDP assessment of the production method increased in the first quarter in current prices by 90 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year, reaching 8 trillion 822 billion 248 million lires.

The volume of GDP for the first quarter is recorded at the level of 285 billion 572 Mon dollars in dollar terms in current prices.

Thus, the Turkish economy grew 15 quarters in a row after the second quarter of 2020, when measures were taken to combat pandemia Covid-19.
