Turkey’s operation in Syria can start immediately after Kurban Bayram

The new military operation of Turkey in Syria can be started after the completion of the cross -border operation in the north of Iraq now conducted by the Turkish army, the Hürriyet newspaper.

The publication does not exclude that the order at the beginning of the operation can be given immediately after the main Muslim holiday, Kurban Bayram, which falls on July 9-12.

Operation “Claw – Castle” is carried out by the Turkish army in Northern Iraq from April 18. To date, according to the Turkish Ministry of Defense, over 220 PKK militants were eliminated, the main places of their base, weapons and food warehouses have been destroyed. According to the publication, the Turkish Armed Forces want to successfully complete the operation in the north of Iraq, so the countdown of the new Syrian operation should be carried out since the termination of hostilities in Iraq. On the other hand, Hürriyet writes, the formation of an army group for surgery in the TV-Rifaat and Manbija, which are defined as directions of the main strike of the Turkish army in the north of Syria, has not yet been fully completed.

Hürriyet resembles the words of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan that surgery in Syria can be started at any time. “The Turkish Armed Forces will not start the operation if they are not completely ready for it. You should pay attention to the holiday of Kurban Bayram, at the end of which the operation can be started not even in a matter of days, but in a matter of hours,” writes the observer of the publication.
