In the capital of Algeria, a Turkish-Algerian business forum began, organized with the aim of increasing trade mobility between countries.
The opening of the forum was attended by the Minister of Trade of Turkey Omer Bolat, who is on an official visit to Algeria, and the Minister of Trade and Development of export of Algeria Tayib Zeituni.
President of the Business Council, Turkey-Alger Jalal Sarandi Muammer, told the correspondent to the Anadolu agents that 29 Turkish and 150 Algerian companies were taking part in the forum.
According to Muammer, the industry spectrum of participating companies includes agriculture, automotive, construction, electronics, chemistry, mechanical engineering, ecology, tourism, processing industry, mining industry, computer science, food industry, services of services, textiles and marine transport.
“Some of them are only interested in marketing and distribution of products, while others want to invest, using the advantages of Algerian investment legislation, which offers many opportunities and low production costs, such as labor, energy and water,” said Muammer, noting that there is great interest in bilateral meetings that will be held between representatives of companies and businessmen of the two countries.
He added that two countries together can open the markets of the African continent, taking into account the free trade zones that have already been created with Mauritania and will soon be created with Tunisia, Libya, Mali and Niger.
In his speech at the opening of the event, the Minister of Trade of Turkey Omer Bolat noted that at the end of last year, the volume of joint trade between countries amounted to $ 6.3 billion. The minister emphasized that the parties are taking decisive steps to reach 10 billion dollars.
