The National Intelligence Organization of Turkey (Mi̇t) neutralized one of the leaders of YPG (Syrian branch of PKK) Yashar Chekik under the code name “Yashar Hakkari” in the Tall-Ryfat area in Syria.
According to sources in security structures, the Chekik was included in the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs in the “red list” of the wanted terrorists for attacks on security forces in Turkey, Iraq and Syria
It is reported that Chekik joined the ranks of the bloody organization of PKK in 1993. In 2010, he took part in organizing an attack on the gendarmerie of the Khantep of the Turkish province of Diyarbakyr, as a result of which six military personnel were killed.
