Turkish companies are interested in investments in projects of renewable energy sources (VIE) in Azerbaijan. About this “Anadolo” was told by Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Ankara Rashad Mamedov.
According to him, the Azerbaijani side sent a request to Turkish companies in connection with the project of a wind station with a capacity of 100 MW in Lachina and Kelbadzhare, which were freed from occupation.
“The potential of economically appropriate and technically suitable renewable energy sources in Azerbaijan is 27 thousand megavatts, of which 3,000 megavatts are wind energy, 23 thousand megavat-sun, 380 megawatt bioenergy and 520 megavatts of river,” said the head of the diplomatic mission .
He recalled that in September 2020 in Azerbaijan, the State Agency for Alternative and Reneurated Energy Sources under the Ministry of Energy was established, and in May 2021, Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev signed an order to create a green energy zone on freed from the occupation territories of the Azerbaijan Republic.
In this regard, studies were conducted in order to study the potential of solar, wind, biomass, thermal, geothermal and other renewable energy sources in these regions and ensure energy supply by creating renewal facilities, the Ambassador said
Mamedov pointed out a memorandum of understanding of cooperation, signed in 2019 Tekfen İnşaat and the Azerbaijan Ministry of Energy in the field of alternative and renewable energy sources.
“Turkish companies Achar Energy, Eksim Holding, Best Brands Energy Group, Renevo Energy, Solar Apex, Zorlu Enerji announced interest in implementing projects in Azerbaijan VIE,” he added.
