Turkish Contractors For 10 Months Implemented Projects In Amount Of $ 17.6 Billion Abroad

Turkish contracting companies in 10 months of the year implemented projects in the amount of $ 17.6 billion abroad. This “Anadolo” reports with reference to the Ministry of Education of Turkey.

The Turkish contract sector in recent years continues to successfully perform work abroad, despite the risks such as the pandemia of the Covid-19 and the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.

In 2019, Turkish contractors implemented 544 projects abroad in the amount of $ 19.9 billion.

Due to the negative impact of the pandemic on the world economy, the cost of projects implemented by Turkish companies abroad in 2020 decreased to $ 16.9 billion. 386 works were completed.

In 2021, the negative consequences of the pandemic began to weaken and 457 projects in the amount of $ 31.5 billion were implemented abroad.

The cost of projects implemented by the contracting sector abroad in 2022 amounted to $ 20 billion, and the number of projects – 507.

Last year, Turkish contracting companies, contrary to global economic problems and negative consequences of the conflict of the Russian Federation and Ukraine, implemented 436 projects abroad in the amount of $ 28.3 billion.

For 10 months of 179 projects

The Turkish contract sector for 10 months has implemented 179 projects abroad for 17.6 billion dollars.

Participates and changing the dynamics of the average cost of work performed by the industry.

If in 2015 the average cost of the project in the sector reached $ 83.8 million, and in 2021 this figure reached $ 69 million.

In 2022, this indicator amounted to $ 39.4 million, and last year – $ 64.8 million. In January-October, the average cost of projects was about $ 98.3 million.

The Russian market is the leader

From 1972 to the end of October, the foreign contracting sector has implemented 12 thousand 317 projects in the amount of $ 522.1 billion in 137 countries.

If we distribute projects implemented during this period, then Russia took first place with a share of 19.6 percent.

The total cost of projects implemented to this day in this country amounted to $ 102.4 billion.

In second place with 10.3 percent follows Turkmenistan, where the amount of projects implemented amounted to 53.5 billion dollars.

according to Iraq, this indicator amounted to 6.7 percent and 35 billion dollars, respectively. These countries are followed by Libya ($ 31.2 billion) and Kazakhstan ($ 31 billion).

In Saudi Arabia, Turkish contractors implemented projects in the amount of $ 29 billion, in Algeria – in the amount of 22.7 billion, in Qatar – 20.3 billion, in Azerbaijan – 19.8 billion, in the UAE – $ 13.5 billion .

Among the projects implemented today by Turkish contractors abroad, the first place was taken by motorways, tunnels and bridges, which were 13.9 percent of all works.

housing construction accounts for 13.7 percent, power plants – 8.5 percent, shopping centers – 7 percent and airports – 6.6 percent of all work performed.
