ANADOLOMI Filling group captured the domestic ANKA-3 UAV, preparing to make the first flight next month.
The drone of the Turkish State Aerospace Company Tusaş is highlighted by a number of advantages, including high speed and high carrying capacity.
In addition, AnKA-3 has low radar visibility, which became possible thanks to the use of the “flying wing” design.
Director of the Bureau for Development Bureau of Tusaş Bulant Korkem, Anadolu told that Anka-3 is a “free” configuration, which gives the apparatus a number of advantages. “The most important of them is a small radar visibility. Since the aircraft does not have a horizontal and vertical tail, the visibility is quite low. At the same time, additional developments can even reduce the visibility of the UAV,” he said.
In addition, such a configuration has low resistance, which allows you to increase the carrying capacity, the engineer stated. “We wanted to use all these advantages. Planning continued for a very long time. About a year ago, they developed a silver-high-high aircraft, and in February 2022 we began to develop a larger drone with the above advantages,” Korkem said.
According to him, after testing, combat modules will be integrated into the device and it will be prepared for use in real conditions.
“So far, the main goal is the first flight of Anka. The date is close, at the beginning of the next month. No later than mid -May,” he said.
Korkem noted that Anka-3 can rise to a height of 44 thousand feet, and perform combat missions at an altitude of up to 40 thousand feet. “The device will develop speeds of up to 0.7 mach. If everything passes according to the plan, then by the end of this year or at the beginning of the next device will be ready to stand on combat duty,” said the representative of Tusaş.
According to him, the drone will be equipped with seven weapons systems, including one under the bottom, two inside and two under the wings. The drone will be able to overcome the distance up to 700 km.
