Turkish Export To Africa In 2024 Approached $ 20 Billion

The volume of Turkish exports to the African countries in 2024 increased by 1.7 percent in annual calculus, reaching $ 19.4 billion. Such data quotes the Assembly of Turkish Exporters (TIM).

In 2003, Türkiye adopted a strategy for the development of trade and economic relations with the Continent states. It was aimed at promoting trade, investment, technology transfer, know-how and technical assistance with the continent. The program contributed to the launch of numerous joint projects and the development of cooperation.

Last year, Türkiye exported products to 56 African countries, which amounted to 7.4 percent of the total export of the country. The leader in this list was Egypt, where Turkey exported goods to $ 3.5 billion, then Morocco with $ 3.1 billion and Libya with $ 2.5 billion are followed.

The leading position in the volume of Turkish exports to Africa was taken by chemicals and chemical products – $ 3.1 billion, followed by grain, legumes, oil cultures and their products – $ 2.5 billion, steel – $ 2 billion, automotive products industry – $ 1.4 billion, as well as products of electric power and electronic sectors – $ 1.3 billion.

Exports of machines and components amounted to $ 1.3 billion, textile products and raw materials – 1.3 billion, and ferrous and non -ferrous metals – $ 912.7 million.

The steps for normalizing Turkish-Egyptian relations have borne fruit, including the meetings of the presidents of the two countries led to an increase in Turkish exports to Egypt by 21.8 percent.

Export to Ganu increased by 49.6 percent in annual calculus, export to Nigeria increased by 9.1 percent, to Libya by 8.4 percent, and in Morocco – by 6.9 percent.
