The constant representative of Turkey in the United Nations (UN) Ambassador Akhmet Yildiz noted that the PKK/YPG terrorist organization is trying to promote its separatist plans in Syria.
“Terrorist organizations should not be considered as legitimate subjects,” he stressed.
Yyldyz spoke at a meeting of the UN Security Council (UN SB), dedicated to the political and humanitarian situation in Syria.
The politician said that the humanitarian situation in Syria is difficult, and it is worsening. Yyldyz said that 16.7 million people in the country need humanitarian assistance.
He noted that a quarter of those in need of humanitarian aid lives in the north-west of Syria.
Having emphasized that the consequences of the humanitarian situation in Syria are affected not only by the country, but also on the region and abroad, the Permanent Representative said that it is necessary to ensure sustainable funding, taking into account the new mobility of refugees.
Ambassador Yyldyz said that Türkiye will continue to cooperate with the UN in the field of cross -border humanitarian aid.

recognizing the deterioration of the situation in Syria, the diplomat noted that the international community should urgently take measures to finally resolve the conflict, and pointed out the importance of consideration of the conflict on the basis of a holistic approach with all its political, security and humanitarian aspects.
He pointed out that the PKK/YPG terrorist organization and its Syrian continuation of SDF are trying to promote their separatist agenda in Syria and violate human rights.
