Turkish Foreign Ministry Condemned Signing Of Roadmap Between United States And Greek Administration Of Cyprus

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey responded to the signing of the agreement “Roadmap of Bilateral Defense Cooperation” between the United States and the Greek administration of the Southern Cyprus: “We condemn the signing of a roadmap on the development of defense cooperation between the United States and the Greek administration of the Southern Cyprus.”

The Ministry made a written statement regarding the signing of a roadmap on the development of defense cooperation between the United States and the Greek administration of the Southern Cyprus.

The statement says: “We condemn the signing of a roadmap on the development of defense cooperation between the United States and the Greek administration of the Southern Cyprus.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRK) shares the point of view expressed in a statement on this issue, and emphasizes that the “justified reaction of the” authorities of TRSK “is fully supported.”

The Foreign Ministry statement notes the following:

“The steps taken by the US authorities against the security of the Cyprus-Turkish side, including the announcement of the beginning of a strategic dialogue with the Greek administration in June last year, undermine the US neutral position in relation to the island of Cyprus and find it difficult to find a fair, strong and sustainable solution to the Cyprus issue In this regard, we believe that a policy that can damage regional stability should be revised.

Foreign Ministry emphasizes that the signing of the Agreement “Road Map of Bilateral Defense Cooperation” between the United States and the Administration of the Greeks-Cypriots of Southern Cyprus (GCASC) contradicts international security reasons.

Earlier, the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) said that the stability and safety of Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean is “vital” for the United States and the Greek administration.
