The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey expressed regrets in connection with the decision of UEFA to remove Merich Demiral from participating in two matches of the national football team.
The Ministry made a written statement about the punishment issued by the football player Demiral.
The Foreign Ministry statement says:
“We regret that UEFA imposed a two -match ban on participating in competitions on the player of the National Football national football team Merich Demiral. International sports events are organized in order to bring together societies and countries. This is a decision that caused a deep disappointment of all our citizens in the country and abroad, strengthens the opinion that in some European countries a tendency towards a biased attitude towards foreigners is strengthened. “
