The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey honored the memory of the victims of the Tutsi genocide in Rwand in 1994.
The Ministry made a written statement about the genocide that occurred in Rwand in 1994.
“We recall the genocide against Tutsi in Rwanda with deep sorrow in 1994, which is one of the greatest sorrows in the history of mankind. We honor the memory of those who died, and express our condolences to the Rwanda people,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Genocide
In 1994, in Rwanda, Hutu began genocide against the Tutsi, whom they considered responsible for the shot down aircraft of the then President Juvenal Habiarimans. During the massacre, which lasted 100 days in the country, more than 800 thousand tutsi died.
