Presidential elections in Syria, which are scheduled for May 26, 2021, can not be considered a legitimate international community. This opinion was expressed on Friday an official representative of the Turkish Foreign Ministry to Tangi Bilgich in a common statement.
“Presidential elections declared by the Syrian regime [President Bashar Assad] on May 26, 2021 are incompatible with the criteria of a roadmap, put forward by the UN Security Council resolution 2254. Elections that have deprived almost 7 million Syrians of electoral law, which are far from free and fair , can not be considered a legitimate international community, “said Bilgich.
