The Turkish Association of Gastronomic Tourism (GTD) makes every effort so that Anatolia products will enter foreign markets. About this in an interview with “Anadolo” was reported by the head of GTD Gürkan Boztepa.
“We created a brand called GT Anadolu, prepare protocols with domestic and foreign companies as part of e -commerce. Products will be sold both domestically and abroad through electronic operations carried out on the Internet,” said Boztepe.
According to him, the association created a concept within the framework of “gastronomic tourism”, combining tourism and gastronomic features of Turkey into one whole, since this area is one of the important components that bring income to the tourism sphere.
“The annual income of Turkey from gastronomic tourism is 5.1 billion dollars, while in the USA this figure reaches $ 444 billion a year. We set a goal to reach a level of $ 15 billion before the end of the year and we expect to achieve it,” said Boztep.
The head of the GTD association noted that gastronomy has always been included in the three leaders among all varieties of tourism.
“Even if a tourist comes to Turkey in order to treat for baldness, he goes to a gastronomic tour, as he wants to try dishes of Turkish cuisine and get acquainted with our cultural traditions,” Boztepe said.
According to him, the goal of GTD is to popularize Turkish cuisine.
“We carry out various events in this direction in various regions from New York to Dubai. We created a brand called” GT Anadolu “so that products from the Anatolian region will gain access to foreign markets. We create packaging, graphics and design, everything Ready. If you can sell the best goods of Turkey in the US market, consider that you have succeeded, ”said Boztepe.
He noted that the association expects to enter the American market also through the Amazon platform.
“GT Anadolu” will become a brand of Turkish goods. While gastronomic tourism is mainly sold through restaurants, Turkish products will be sold by means of GT Anadolu, ”Boztepe turned out.
