Turkish Intelligence Services Detained One Of Organizers Of Attack On Church In Istanbul

The efforts of the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (Mi̇T) in Istanbul detained one of the organizers of the armed attack on the Italian Church of Santa Maria on January 28.

According to sources in the structures of the security system, a member of the terrorist organization Deash Viskhan Solutayev provided the weapons of the executors of the attack on the church in the Istanbul district of Saryer.

The Mi̇T operation was held together with the Main Directorate of the Turkish Police. The investigation found that Salvatyev acted in the interests of Khorasan Vilayat, the branch of the deash in Afghanistan.

The attack in the Catholic Church of St. Mary in the Saryer region occurred during Sunday prayer. Two people in masks opened shooting, as a result of which Turkish citizen Tunger Dzhikhan died. As part of the investigation, dozens of people were detained.
