Turkish representative Kaira Ozdemir won a silver medal in the +78 kg category at the World Judo Championship in the UAE.
This was the highest achievement of Turkish judokas in the history of the competition.
In the final battle that took place in Abu Dhabi, Ozdemir lost to a rival from Japan Vakaba Tomita.
Another member of the Turkish women’s national team Hilal Oztyurk awarded a bronze award in the same category. In the match for 3rd place, she turned out to be stronger than the Chinese woman Shiyan Xu.
