During the operations of the Turkish Armed Forces, 62 terrorist was neutralized over the past week, including in the north of Iraq and Syria. This was stated at a briefing by an adviser to relations with the press and public of the Ministry of National Defense of Turkey Rear Admiral Zeki Akturg.
He noted that the operations carried out by the Turkish Armed Forces within the country and abroad are aimed at completely eliminating the terrorist threat and contribute to ensuring security and stability in the region.
According to Akturk, over the past week 72 provocations were undertaken against the Turkish troops, 17 of which occur in the zone of operations in Iraq and 55 in Syria.
During the response steps and operations, 62 terrorist was neutralized over the past week, including in the north of Iraq and in Syria. Thus, the total number of terrorists neutralized over the year reached 3021, ”he said.
Akturk pointed out that during search events in caves in the north of Iraq, a large number of weapons and ammunition belonging to terrorists were seized. Two more RSC terrorists, who fled from their shelters last week, lay down their weapons and surrendered to the Turkish military.
