Turkish Ministry Of Defense Announced Preparations For Possible Evacuation Operation From Lebanon

The Turkish military in coordination with the country’s Foreign Ministry carefully monitor the development of the situation in Lebanon, preparations for a possible evacuation operation are carried out. This was stated at a briefing by an adviser to relations with the press and the public of the Ministry of National Defense of Turkey, Rear Admiral Zeki Akturg, answering questions about whether the help of Livan will continue and whether the Turkish Armed Forces will conduct an evacuation operation.

“Turkish armed forces have means and opportunities for the implementation of the tasks assigned to them on the safe evacuation of Turkish or foreign citizens from Lebanon and previously successfully conducted many evacuation events. Currently, they are closely monitoring the development of events in Livana coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs As a possible evacuation operation, preliminary planning is carried out.

In addition, Akturk said that from January 1, the Turkish Armed Forces neutralized 2049 terrorists, including 1046 in the northern part of Iraq and 1003 in the north of Syria. Over the past week alone, 36 terrorists were neutralized in these regions, he said.
