Turkish Air Force struck 71 targets in the north of Iraq and Syria in response to terrorist attacks committed in the area of the Pençe-Kielit (Claw-Class) Operation on December 22 and 23. This was stated by the Minister of National Defense of Turkey Yashar Guler at a meeting with the participation of the chief of the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces General Metin Gyurak and the commanders of the military of the troops.
Guler was informed about the work done, in particular, the fight against terrorism, and also gave instructions on the upcoming work, the Turkish Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
The Turkish minister recalled that on December 22 and 23, 12 Turkish military were killed in the area of the Pençe-Kielit Operations.
“We took revenge on these precious lives and continue to do it. No one should doubt that we will continue to do this the tough method,” Guler said.
The Minister also expressed condolences in connection with the death of the Turkish military and wished the speedy recovery to the wounded.
In response to these attacks, we conducted air operations regarding 71 targets in the north of Iraq and Syria. In general, 59 terrorists were neutralized during various military operations, Guller noted.
“As we always said, our fight against terrorism will continue until the last terrorist is neutralized,” the minister emphasized.
He noted that the intense year remains behind, during which the Ministry of National Defense successfully fulfilled the obligations to ensure peace and security of citizens and the country.
The minister expressed the hope that 2024 will become a year worthy of the century of Turkey, and also promised to do everything possible to achieve this goal.
