The Turkish Emergency Situations and Spontaneous Disasters (AFAD) continues to search and rescue work in the infamous Sednaya prison in the capital of Syria Damascus. This is stated in the press release of Afad.
The events involve 120 personnel, 43 vehicles and 4 search dogs.
The Savior team, led by the head of AFAD, Opemish went to Damascus from Hatai Province in the southeast of Turkey.
Work was started at the request of local authorities and are carried out when coordinating the Turkish Embassy in Damascus.
According to the report, various technical means and equipment are used with special care of work, including the device for obtaining images through the wall, a ground radar and a seismoacoustic device.
“We continue to support our Syrian brothers in all their needs-from providing humanitarian assistance to search and rescue work. In the name of people in our country, in the name of mankind outside it,” emphasized in Afad.
The sadly famous prison “Sednaya” near Damascus became famous “with cruel tortures at the overthrown regime of Bashar al -Assad.
After the fall of the regime, thousands of prisoners, which were contained in institutions like “Sednaya”, were freed by opponents of the regime.
Since the beginning of the uprising against the regime of Bashar al -Assad in March 2011, “Sednaya” has become the center of systematic atrocities, where opponents of the overthrown regime were subjected to torture, rape, hunger and executions.
It is assumed that some of the prisoners may be in the secret compartments of the prison located underground.
The Syrians who have not received news of their loved ones for years, are flowing to the prison in the hope of finding them.
