Researchers from the Middle Eastern Technical University (ODTü) located in Ankara, together with colleagues from the UK, Austria and the Czech Republic, are involved in the international project, within which robots-panchela are developed to help the endangered types of bees all over the world.
The program allows you to control the hives using artificial intelligence.
The development was one of the two best global innovations among 13 projects at the competition held as part of the World Government Summit in the UAE. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended the event as an honorary guest.
The competition was organized by the Edge of Government platform.
Work on a project called Roboroyale is conducted by the Center for Application and Research of Technologies of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (Romer) in the University campus in Ankara with the support of Horizon Europe. In an interview with the correspondent of the Anadola agency, the university teacher Erol Shakhin spoke about the endeavor.
According to him, the project was initiated two years ago by the International Consortium, headed by Dorem University, which includes ODTü, Czech Technical University and the University of Graz. The team of researchers consists of 20 people.
The interlocutor of the agency emphasized that if the bees disappear, the entire ecosystem of the planet will be under the threat of destruction. “With the help of this project, we strive to develop new generation hives equipped with the latest technologies,” he explained.
