The National Intelligence Organization of Turkey (Mi̇t) neutralized one of the leaders of the terrorist organization of the RSC/SSK Murat Kelesh during an operation in the Khakakk area in Iraq.
According to information received from sources in the field of security, the Turkish special services monitored the movement of the militant under the code name “Berkhudan Harun”, who was one of the perpetrators of the attack on the Silopian Silopian Armored Transporter in the Shirnak province in 2016.
Kelesh was wanted in Turkey for “crimes related to terrorism.” The militant carried out terrorist activities in the Iraqi district of Hakurk.
The Turkish intelligence agencies using the intelligence network established the whereabouts of Kelesh, who was organizing the transfer of explosives to Western provinces with the aim of conducting terrorist attacks in megacities.
The terrorist, hiding for a long time from security forces, was neutralized during a point operation organized by Mi̇t.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that since 1984, when the militants of the RSC for the first time had carried out a bloody crime in Turkey, and until March 2020, 7,500 security forces of Turkey and 6,800 civilians were killed at the hands of this bloody organization.
The United States and the European Union introduced PKK to the lists of terrorist organizations.
Despite Ankara’s attempts to find ways to settle the situation, the PKK terrorist organization has resumed armed attacks since July 2015.
In recent years, PKK seeks to shift responsibility for bloody crimes in the region to its branches.
In Syria, PKK terrorists are covered by the names Pyd and YPG, and in the last two years they call themselves “Syrian democratic forces.”
In Iran, PKK acts as “Party of Free Life of Kurdistan” (pjak).
