Before the start of the serial production of the Turkish tank Altay, tests will be carried out in six thousand different criteria. The process of testing the tank, the two prototypes of which have already been transferred to the Turkish Armed Forces, is planned to be completed until mid -2024.
This was announced by BMC Savunma CEO Mehmet Karaslan in an interview with Anadolu as part of the Aviation festival, cosmonautics and Technology technologies in Istanbul.
According to him, according to the results of the tender for serial production of the domestic tank, it is planned to start a full -scale production with the sight for the supply of the first batch within 18 months.
Karaaslan noted that 450 specialists were involved in the project of the modernized Altay tank.
He said that the development of a tank with a tower without a crew is also being developed, which will minimize damage from air strikes, including UAVs.
