Turkish Unmanned Vehicle Okhan Has Successfully Tested

Unmanned regulatory apparatus (BNA) Okhan developed by Turkish engineers, successfully completed the tests.

The production of the device was launched in 2018 by Kayacı Savunma in the Turkish city of Mersin.

BNA, designed for work in difficult maritime conditions, successfully passed all the tests conducted in various conditions at sea.

okhan, the length of which is 11.5 meters, can develop speeds of up to 27 knots due to an engine with a capacity of 390 horsepower.

A device weighing 7 tons has a swimming range of up to 350 sea miles.

Director of the Kayacı Savunma Defense Development and Professor of Mersin, Jarner Ozdemir, noted that Okhan is designed to conduct control, reconnaissance and observation in the open sea.

“Thanks to numerous functions such as a radar, thermal imaging cameras and night vision cameras, the device uses its own decision-making mechanism with support for artificial intelligence and performs its functions without any problems,” said the professor.

According to Ozdemir, Okhan successfully passed all the tests conducted under the leadership of the Office of the Defense Industry of Turkey. Currently, final negotiations are underway on its intake.
