Turkish weightlifter Abdullah Kayapinar won a silver medal in the weight category up to 49 kg at the Summer Paralympic Games in Paris.
Kayapinar performed in the final competitions in the weight category up to 49 kg in the arena of the Port de la-marting sports complex.
The athlete managed to raise a bar with a weighing 172 kg, 176 kg and 180 kg. At the same time, the weight of 184 kg was not overcome. Thus, Kayapinar occupied the second step of the pedestal.
Abdullah Kayapinar also went down in history as the first Turkish athlete among men who won the medal in Paralympic heavy athletics.
Omar Hamede Karada himself from Jordan won a gold medal with a weight of 181 kilograms, and the Cong of Vietnam – a bronze medal with a weight of 171 kilograms.
