Türkiye Advocates Stability In Syria

Türkiye will continue to make efforts in order to ensure stability, security and justice in Syria.

This was stated by the head of the Relations Department under the Administration of the President of Turkey Fakhretin Altun, speaking at the “Seminar on Crisis Communications” in Ankara.

“In this process, our country will continue to advance under the leadership of our president, providing the necessary interaction and coordination with all parties, especially regional players, and with faith due to diplomacy,” he said.

According to Altun, “the free will of the Syrian people is the main priority for Turkey.”

The head of the department added that the Turkish authorities will take the necessary steps to ensure “a worthy, safe, voluntary and ordered return of the Syrian refugees to their homeland.”

He stated that over the past 13 years, one of the largest humanitarian crises in modern history has occurred in Syria. “About 1 million people were killed, 12 million people were moved, and thousands of innocent people who were forced to leave their homes drowned, trying to cross the Mediterranean and Aegean seas in search of asylum,” said Fakhretin Altun.

A representative of the Turkish AP noted that during the armed conflict in Syria, “cities, shrines, historical buildings were destroyed, and the country became the arena of fierce proxy-warriors.”
