“We are now involved in the work regarding the supply of electricity, which will be produced in Azerbaijan and, in fact, in this geography, to Turkey through Georgia and Nakhichevan. Of course, we also strive to connect this with the European market,” the minister said.
Southern gas corridor, created as a result of the initiative of Turkey and Azerbaijan and allows you to transport natural gas from the Caspian basin first to Turkey, and then to Europe, is a world -class project, and this project was implemented thanks to the strong political will of the leaders of the two countries, the head of the department emphasized.
“Today, the Southern gas corridor has become a very important project that ensures the safety of the supply of Turkey and Europe. Our goal is to increase the power of Tanap from 16 billion cubic meters to 31 billion cubic meters. Turkey is ready to play its role and as an important market, and as an important gas hub, as it did ahead of all,” he continued.
Bayractar noted that the transportation of Azerbaijani oil through the Baku-Tbilisi-Jahan pipeline has an important impact on the global oil market. The minister emphasized that about 700 thousand barrels of oil are pumped through this route daily.
The head of the Ministry of Energy noted that under the new project, work is underway on the supply of electricity produced in Azerbaijan and the region to Turkey through Georgia and Nakhichevan, especially in the field of renewable energy sources. “Of course, we also strive to integrate this project with the European market,” he added.
Bayractar noted that relations in the field of electric power began to develop intensively. “Our goal is to increase these capacities. In particular, we strive to supply electricity, produced using renewable energy sources, to Turkey and European markets through Turkey,” Bayractar said.
The Minister has touched on the issues of cooperation in the field of energy as part of the organization of Turkic states.
“This year, Turkey will accept the meeting of the Energy of the CIS countries. We strive to expand bilateral cooperation with Azerbaijan and take it to a multifaceted level, expanding to the Turkic states, and thereby increasing the economic value of this cooperation.
