Turkey’s cooperation with Russia successfully continues in many areas of energy. This was announced by the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayractar.
“Our goal is to create a larger shopping center in Turkey, which includes both natural gas and electricity, as well as the production of mining industries, in particular, to realize the vision of the Istanbul financial center. And we continue to work in this context” – said Minister.
Bayractar emphasized that intensive trade between the two countries continues not only in the field of natural gas and atomic energy, but also in the oil and coal industries.
The minister also drew attention to the trade partnership established between the two countries, in particular in the gas industry, which has been going on for about 40 years.
“Russian companies and Russia have significant experience and a reputation of reliable suppliers to Turkey. At the same time, Turkey is an important country for Russia in terms of a growing and reliable market. Therefore, this cooperation continues on a permanent and long-term basis,” Bayraktar said .
According to him, Akkui nuclear power plant in turn is an important project of energy cooperation.
Akka NPCA today is one of the world’s largest atomic energy facilities in the world. In April, nuclear fuel was delivered to its site, after which it received the status of a nuclear facility. Ahead of the process in which we will produce electricity at the first power unit of nuclear power plants, ”the minister said.
Bayractar noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin, in his speech at the Russian Energy Week, also touched on the topic of cooperation with Turkey in the field of energy and a gas hub project.
“During the discussions with Gazprom, we plan to mutually coordinate the road map on this issue, and then carry out joint work on the implementation of the gas hub for the coming period,” Bayractar added.
According to him, cooperation with Russia will continue in many spheres of energy in the coming period.
The minister recalled that the vision of the Istanbul financial center was previously nominated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
