According to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, 26 million 766 thousand 240 visitors to Turkey within 7 months of this year were foreigners, and 3 million 327 thousand 206 – citizens living abroad.
In January-July, the number of foreigners who visited Turkey increased by 16.22% compared to the same period last year.
The first place in the ranking of countries that send the largest number of visitors to Turkey was taken by the Russian Federation with an increase of 59.22% compared to the same period of the previous year and 3 million 498 thousand 614 people.
In second place is Germany with an increase of 7.32% and 3 million 211 thousand 724 people, in the third – England (Great Britain) with an increase of 14% and 2 million 63 thousand 740 people. These countries are followed by Bulgaria and Iran.
During this period, Turkey was visited by 30 million 93 thousand 446 tourists, exceeding the 2019 indicator of 26 million 524 thousand people and reaching a new visitor record.
– In July, 7.1 million foreigners were visited by the country
The number of foreign tourists in July amounted to 7 million 148 thousand 44 people, increasing by 7.25% compared to the same month of the previous year.
In the ranking of countries, in the number of tourists in July, Germany took first place with a decrease in 2.12% and 941 thousand 597 people compared to the same month of the previous year, the second place – the Russian Federation with an increase of 19.31 % and 884 thousand 585 people, third place – England with an increase of 5.21% and 574 thousand 436 people. Further in the ranking is Poland and Bulgaria.
