The volume of foreign trade in the national currency in January of this year increased by 138.8 percent compared to the same period of 2022 – up to 287 billion 59 million Turkish lires. Such data leads on Tuesday “Anadolo” with reference to the data of the Ministry of Trade of Turkey.
According to the Ministry of Trade, the total volume of Turkish exports in May of this year increased by 14.4 percent to $ 21.7 billion, which is the highest export rate in monthly calculus.
Meanwhile, the volume of Turkish imports increased by 16 percent – to 34 billion 312 million dollars.
At the same time, the volume of foreign trade in May increased by 15.3 percent – to 55 billion 963 million dollars.
The volume of Turkish exports in January -May of this year increased by 0.2 percent compared to the same period of 2022 – up to 102 billion 521 million dollars, and imports by 8.9 percent, up to 158 billion $ 625 million.
At the same time, the volume of foreign trade in the period under consideration increased by 5.3 percent – to 261 billion $ 146 million.
In parallel with the increase in the volume of foreign trade, Turkey has a tendency to increase calculations in the Turkish lyre.
So, the volume of exports in the national currency in May grew by 120 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 16 billion 366 million Turkish lires. The volume of Turkish imports in the national currency in the period under consideration amounted to 49 billion 422 million Turkish lire, and the volume of foreign trade reached 65 billion 788 million Turkish lire.
The volume of exports in the national currency in January of the current year increased by 90.6 percent compared to the same period of 2022 – up to 77 billion 658 million Turkish liras. The volume of imports in the national currency in the period under review amounted to 209 billion 401 million Turkish lires.
The number of countries and regions with which calculations were made for supplied products in Turkish lira in May reached 165, and companies – 8440.
