Türkiye evacuated a total of 1834 people from Sudan. This was announced on Friday by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlut Chavushoglu on the air of the TRT Haber television channel.
According to Chavushoglu, among them 249 citizens of 19 different countries.
“We maintain contact with every citizen of our country who wants to return to our homeland,” the minister said.
The diplomat also touched the efforts of Ankara to end the armed conflict in Sudan.
Chavushoglu said that the deputy head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry of Akchapa will go to Sudan with an intermediary mission next week.
Earlier, the Ministry of National Defense of Turkey allocated 5 military transport aircraft to evacuate Turkish citizens from Sudan.
