Türkiye Expects To Accept This Year More Than 7 Million Russian Tourists

Representatives of the Turkish tourist sector expect that the number of Russian tourists in 2025 will exceed 7 million due to the continuation of political and economic development in a positive direction.

Representatives of the Turkish Travel Agencies Association (Türsab) spoke about their expectations to the Anadol correspondent in the fields of the MITT-2025 International Tourist Exhibition in Moscow.

Türsan Vice President Hassan Eccer said that representatives of the tourist sector have big expectations regarding the Russian market in 2025, noting that this year the Russian ruble has been strengthened in relation to all world currencies.

According to Ecker, Türkiye today is at a high level in terms of price and quality ratio.

“And in this regard, we believe that Russian tourists will give preference to rest in Turkey than last year,” he said.

Eccer also noted the presence of a positive interaction between Turkey and Russia.

“We have very good relations both at the level of the government and at the level of our agencies and tour operators. Russians love Turkey, its sea, business and people. There is mutual love at the local level. We will interpret all this as an indicator of the fact that Russia will send much more tourists to Turkey compared to last year,” he said.

Türsab vice president recalled that last year, more than 6.5 million Russian tourists visited Turkey.

“The Russian market has always been one of the three largest markets in Turkey. It is currently a leading market. We believe that this year with a height of at least 10 percent will arrive from 7.5 million tourists. This year we will exceed 7 million in the Russian market,” said Eceres

Türsab vice president also drew attention to not quite good relations between Russia and Europe against the backdrop of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

“Therefore, the Russians are more oriented towards Turkey and the Asian market. Since our competitors such as Italy, Spain and Greece, which were in demand in past years, now this demand will be reoriented to Turkey,” he said.

Ecere noted that representatives of the tourist sector, with the support of Türsab, carried out important work and marketing activities in Russia.

“also continues to grow the number of flights. Given all this, we expect that this year we will exceed the bar of 7 million,” he said.

The vice president of Türsab said that many Russian tourists along with Antalya also travel to other regions of Turkey, especially in recent years.

“Since the number of regular flights between Turkey and Russia demonstrates growth, people can make an individual program, choose the desired day and airline,” he said.
