The global market of artificial intelligence in healthcare will exceed $ 200 billion by 2030, and Turkey is one of the countries with the greatest potential for dominance in this market. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Health of Turkey Shuayp Birinji at the first meeting “Hospital Manager Workshops”, organized by the hospital LIV Hospital in Istanbul.
Türkiye is ahead of many countries in the digitalization of medicine
Birinji emphasized that Türkiye has been actively moving to the digitalization of medical data for many years and collects information about the state of health of citizens.
“In Turkey, a system of collecting data on patients has long been established. While many states are just starting this process, we have rich experience in managing medical data,” the official said.
According to the deputy, the biggest advantage of Turkey is the ability to develop technologies that will allow predicting diseases, ensuring preventive treatment, introduce virtual assistants and apply JI chat to monitor the condition of patients.
Birinji emphasized that Türkiye is already ahead of many European countries in the field of integration of citizens into a digital ecosystem of healthcare.
The official noted that, despite the successes achieved, Türkiye continues to improve the healthcare system, correcting the existing shortcomings.
“Of course, we still have gaps, but we learn from experience. The main thing we have no large digital failures, which causes admiration for the whole world. Our developments are recognized as the best practices (Best Practice), and many of them are already won international recognition, ”he emphasized.
“We form a strong digital healthcare ecosystem”
In addition, the Deputy Minister of Health of Turkey noted that the success of digitalization in medicine is the merit of not only the state, but also medical workers, the private sector and managers.
“We do not work alone. Many people, industries and managers who have vast experience in the field of medical administration are involved in this process. Political support for digital initiatives such as E-Devlet (Electronic Government) also greatly facilitates our work” – he added.
According to the politician, this is a very important “team game” and Turkey managed to win it.
“I hope we continue to move in this direction and make our digital ecosystem even more powerful,” Birinji summed up.
