The number of Russian tourists’ trips abroad in 2024 increased by 15.4% compared to 2023 – up to 17.4 million. At the same time, Turkey leads to the TOP -25 of the most popular tourist countries among Russians in 2024. This was reported by the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).
“According to the calculations of the analytical service of the ATOR, the exit flow in the top-25 most popular tourist destinations from Russia reached 17.4 million trips in 2024, increasing by 15.4%. At the same time, 88% of all tourist trips of Russians (including transit) fall into 6 countries, ” – follows from the message.
Ator noted that over 14 million trips from the indicated 17.4 million were made by Russians with the aim of classical and business tourism (rest, healing, business trips, participation in events, etc.).
At the same time, Türkiye took first place in the TOP-25 of the most popular tourist countries among Russians in 2024. Almost 40 percent of the exit tourism market in Russia falls on Turkey (38.5%).
In second place along the share of foreign tourist trips – the UAE with 11.4%, in third place China with 10.9%, in the fourth – Thailand (10%), then Abkhazia and Egypt are in (8.6 and 8.5 %, respectively).
Atore noted that these six (beach) countries together accept 88% of all tourist trips of Russians per year. The remaining 19 countries from the TOP-25 account for only 12%. And the first 10 countries from the TOP-25 accept 93% of the total Russian away tourist flow.
