Turkey exports reached a record maximum in August, increasing by 1.6% to $ 21.6 billion in annual calculus. This follows from preliminary data published by the Ministry of Trade of the country on Monday.
The volume of imports fell by 6.3% compared to the same period last year- up to 30.5 billion dollars.
The country’s foreign trade deficit in August amounted to $ 8.9 billion, decreasing by 21.2% in annual calculus.
According to the results of August, Germany is still the main recipient of Turkish exports with $ 1.8 billion. This is followed by the United States ($ 1.3 billion), Iraq ($ 1.09 billion), Great Britain ($ 1.06 billion) and Italy ($ 877 million).
The largest trading partner in importing goods in Turkey in August became China – $ 3.8 billion. It is followed by Russia ($ 3.4 billion), Germany ($ 2.56 billion), the UAE ($ 2.08 billion) and Switzerland ($ 1.49 billion).
