The import of natural gas to Turkey in February of this year decreased by 4.2 percent compared to the same month last year and amounted to 6 billion 11 million cubic meters. This is evidenced by the new report on the regulation of the energy market of Turkey.
About 3 billion 147 million cubic meters of imports was delivered to the country for pipelines, and 2 billion 864 million cubic meters – tankers in the form of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
During the reporting period, the import of pipeline gas was reduced by 12.9 percent, and the supply of LNG – by 4.2 percent.
In February, Turkey purchased the largest volumes of natural gas from Russia – 2 billion 65 million cubic meters. This is followed by the United States – 1 billion 21 million cubic meters and Azerbaijan – 815 million cubic meters.
During the specified period, gas imports from Russia were reduced by 12.2 percent, from Iran – by 31 percent. From Azerbaijan, supplies increased by 9.1 percent.
